For my 1,000th review, here is my favorite bacon! I love supporting the Herbivorous Butcher whenever I can, especially since they worked to drop their prices recently! How incredible is that?! As everything else has been getting more expensive they've been able to pass on their profits to us and lower the cost across the board! You might be surprised because this still is more expensive that other bacon at $8.99, but it used to be $9.99. I also love shopping at HB because they have such a cute set up. It's fun to look in the case to see all their creative goodies, and the "butchers" are always so friendly. The owners of this place are like vegan celebrities here in MN.

I really love that these bacon slices are so large. They cook up really fast and have an amazing hickory flavor. It makes my house smell great! They do harden up a bit too much if you cook them too long, so it just takes practice to know when to pull them off. They won't darken up much so you need to go by feel. I love making a quick little sandwich with it or chopping it up to top a salad or throw in some soup. .

This review earned $0.80 in donation earned. I even gave a description of the store and the algorithm didn't deem it worth the full dollar

acastillon Congrats on the double Club Carrot review! 🥕🥕 That alone should be worth the full dollar.6 likesReply

tamiapple & it’s truly disappointing about AB changing a core value proposition - post a review to earn $1 to donate - without clear guidance on how to structure reviews so that moving forward, we can continue to donate the amount we were onboarded to sign-up & join the app with. 1 likeReply
vikas You can still earn a dollar. We’re doing this so we can make the donation program even stronger and ensure that better suggestions and reviews receive more to donate. Unfortunately sometimes people will post a photo of a packet of salt (it happens…) and that just doesn’t feel fair to the rest of the community. Reply
iszy Will there be clear guidelines on how to get your reviews to a dollar? I think I've posted some really solid reviews that are stuck at 70 or 80 cents. Also I think it would be better to reward people with equity instead of donation money. I care less about having equity in abillion than I do about donating to sanctuaries and other causes. I'm really hoping you're taking everyone's concern and suggestions into account 1 likeReply
vikas Yes of course. We published an article about it recently and there’s a link in the pop-up when you post a review. Also, please consider that the equity is an amazing long-term reward that you will be able to donate to sanctuaries if you wish in the future. And it will be worth a lot more as the company grows. I hope you’re here to help build abillion so we can continue supporting amazing organizations.Reply
iszy Hmm I've read the article you're referring to and follow those directions and still haven't gotten the full dollar. For example, what's wrong with this review? 1 likeReply
iszy Do we need to take a picture of the restaurant/shop with every review? That seems like it will clutter the reviews with pictures of buildings and decor instead of pictures of the dish or product. 1 likeReply
vikas It depends on a lot of factors. The photo, the text, your description. It’s a model we’ve designed. It’s not perfect and you won’t always get a dollar. But hang in there, so far I haven’t gotten more than $0.90 and it makes me want to try harder with every post. Reply
iszy Thanks for taking the time to answer questions, Vikas. I love abillion and I'll continue to write reviews I think people will enjoy reading. I'm not a finance person so I don't understand the equity thing, but if it's eventually going to sanctuaries, that's what we want. It's good to hear that the algorithm will be tweaked. 2 likesReply
