I try to pop into Homegoods at least once a month & when I go, I’m often on a treasure hunt for interesting vegan food finds & vegan treats for the four legged kiddo in the house.

Wholefoods has some really great, inexpensive staple items within its 365 range and at $2.79 per half gallon, their organic, unsweetened soy milk is one of those items.

tamiapple There’s a narrative of Wholefoods being super expensive — and I agree! — but, they do offer some core vegan items in their 365 brand (organic soy milk, vegan sliced cheese, organic frozen vegetables, for example) that are quite reasonably priced & keep me coming back.

tamiapple Thanks so much! The plates are a recent thrift store find. After purchasing, I googled the mark on the bottom of the dish - F.S. Louie & Co. Berkeley CA. It turns out they were dish suppliers to Asian restaurants across America. The plates were $4.99 for the pair, seem to be unused & I’m obsessed. 🐦⬛7 likesReply

As frustrating as it can be, I try to remember we’re living, in a way, in revolutionary times.
I imagine there will continue to be a lot of food companies & products that enter the plant-based food space, only to fail, or irrationally disappear, even when the product has a solid customer base.
Also, I live in an area where I have multiple vegan options & many people don’t, so I totally get that it can be a lot more frustrating & challenging for some than others.

tamiapple Thanks so much, so lucky that the screen was a perfect match for a queen sized bed, too :) And funnily enough, this is Teddy’s spot only when she senses I’m leaving. tamiapple Thanks! So glad this might be helpful :) My home isn’t considered large by American standards either (just a smidge under 1000 sq ft) but it’s perfect & feels spacious for Teddy & me. Until a few years ago, my adult life was living in cities, so I’m used to small-ish spaces & really like them. I’ve had this plant for around 8 years & it brings a lot of joy, as I’ve propagated it numerous times & given them as gifts, plus I have several of the propagations throughout the house. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but this is a philodendron brasil.
