Lol, they were clearly trying to be clever with the name but I'm not sure it worked on me 😅 This might have been the 7th or 8th time of asking before I finally bit the bullet and ordered one of their #breadbowl #soup things 😏 Those 7 or 8 occasions included dine-in visits, which arguably would have been far more suitable 🥺 The #bread arrived all soggy and tough, inside of an unfit-for-purpose paper bowl 😬 However nice the #mushroom heavy soup was (I even opted for a #truffleoil add-on 😉), it was never going to save that complete texture fail 🥲 I want to try this dine-in next time!

There is a je ne sais quoi about this, something very delightful in how they executed the broth, which was somehow creamier (if that even makes sense) and smoother than most #bakkutteh concoctions that end up either too peppery or too salty 😅 They also give you a load of fresh #lettuce leaves 😏 And some healthy #multigrain #rice on the side, as if all this justified the whopping RM32 price tag 😦 Ingredients: five lumps of #monkeyheadmushroom cooked until tender; #carrot cubes; #taupok; the promised cuts of #shiitake #mushroom. Not bad at all! 🙂

I always make it a point to order from a seasonal or #festive menu if given the chance (#forthedollar optimisation at play 😏), and so I found myself choosing off the #christmas menu at Savor. My biggest gripe is actually how long I had to wait for this (or for anything in general actually); the girlfriend's smoothie bowl was almost completely gone by the time this #beefwellington showed up 😒 It was actually good food, which is why it's a shame that I was so annoyed when I was having it. The #pastry was buttery without butter, the #beetroot (masquerading as beef) had both the form factor+ colour as well as the meaty/beefy flavour to be a convincing stand-in, and the #mashedpotato was everything that a #mash should be (see my review from 3 days ago for more context 😏) I rather enjoyed this, except that I don't think I was ever convinced by having to fork out RM49 for something this small 🥺 I was definitely #stillhungry when I left 😢

Omg this was heavenly ♥️ Definitely a #breakfastofchampions for the #sweettooth, and I was glad to swipe a few bites of the girlfriend's brunch order 😛 The #strawberry #yoghurt was the best part - creamy, smooth, velvety, and just thoroughly sinful ☺️ The frozen #acai berries, the slices of #banana, the #chiaseeds and #granola, the #kiwi, and the #almond flakes all found their places in a beautifully conducted symphony of (sweet) flavours 😋 And what a #feastfortheeyes 🤩

Decent #latte #coffee but nothing more, would've been better with a bit more intensity and a less annoying route to milkiness than #almondmilk (non-negotiable apparently 😏) At least it was a gigantic glass - there was still some left over when I was done with my meal, and I had to down it so that we could leave on time! 😅

Anyone who dares to charge RM34 for a #wantanmee had better serve up something spectacular. Such was the high bar, and unsurprisingly this valiant attempt fell somewhat short 😐 The #noodles were decent, had that sweet-savoury kind of profile that you need; the #tofu was surprisingly good as a #charsiew surrogate 😋 A pile of veggies yeah whatever, and the #soup on the side was tasty. However the #wantan were bad, like you could taste the pungency of the dough even in spite of all the dominant flavours around it; the filling was also a bit forgettable 😐

It's important that we continue to encourage people to try ambitious things like vegan #saltedegg, but this really was a disappointing attempt 😥 It simply didn't give any salted egg vibes at all, not to mention that the texture was this odd mesh of runny sauce and rather dense/hard lumps 😐 Redemptive aspects: the outstanding #yuba, fried to a crisp outside but retaining the lovely, soft texture of #beancurd on the inside; the very generous of quantity of #multigrain #rice. The boiled #carrot sticks and #longbeans are artefacts number 1 and 2 in support of why vegetables need seasoning/salting/frying 😛 Also, RM32 😦

I'm back for more of Savor's overpriced (and generally portioned) #pasta dishes 😅 This time it's a #basil #pesto based #orecchiette dish, with a bit of #edibleflower and #rocket (aka #arugula) on top for show. I mean, once you get through that showy layer it is all 千篇一绿 🤪 They could really have added in some other ingredients to break the monotony a bit #yawn 🥱 Arugula really doesn't present well because it struggles to stand straight up if (a) it isn't 1,000% fresh and (b) it comes into contact with something not 1,000% solid, so yeah it wasn't the prettiest thing that I've ever seen in a lunchbox oh well 🙂
