Let's celebrate #minoritylanguages 🙌 I believe the name of this dish is in Kadazandusun, which is in a different branch of the Malayo-Polynesian subgroup of the Austronesian languages. I don't understand it because of its limited intelligibility with Malay 😟 Aaaanyway this traditional dish from #sabah is not something that I'm going to forget in a jiffy. The #rice was beautifully leaf-wrapped and (I imagine) steamed, then accompanied by an eclectic offering of flavours and textures. The #spicy #sweet #mango was special, just an epic combination of 2 extremes that you rarely find together 🙂 The #pucukmanis wasn't quite so sweet, despite the name, but offered the necessary greenness 😅 The #fakemeat and #mushroom stem curry/stew had a flavour that screamed gravitas, and the #ginger #sambal was the only thing that I disliked, because it was ruined by the #evilweed whose presence was unannounced 😩 This should be a crime. Unfortunately this dish is almost at the end of its run. It's a seasonal special and this is the last week. I wasn't planning on getting it at first, but then snapping up seasonals is also one of the great #abillionhacks 😁
