Review of Greek White (Block/Panetto) - Violife by tamiapple
With a label that highlights what this feta doesn’t contain, along with a clear vegan seal, Violife had me at hello. I recently enjoyed crumbling this soft, mellow & delicious cheese over a salad & on top of pizza. I’m impressed with the flavor of this product & I’ll buy it again. #dairyfree #soyfree #glutenfree #lactosefree #nutfree #preservativefree

berryveganplanet I love this cheese and your plates look amazing! 😋I haven’t tried on pizza 🍕 before! Will definitely give it a go!6 likesReply
tamiapple Thanks! 😊 It’s really nice on pizza - I add it after the pizza has been cooked, so it gets a little bit softer 🍕3 likesReply

moth I agree to add it AFTER, it's not like "real" Feta and it completely melts in cooking. 3 likesReply

lil-chickpea Which would you say is best, Violife or Miyoko’s? We don’t have the brands here yet. Beautiful presentation as usual 🤩 2 likesReply
tamiapple Thanks so much!😊 As far as I know, Miyoko’s doesn’t have a feta offering & if they do, I haven’t tried it. In terms of which brand is best, I’ve tried a lot more Miyoko’s products than this brand, so I might have an unfair taste bias toward Miyoko’s. 😂 Still, I’ve pretty much loved everything I’ve had from both brands, though I do love that everything I’ve tried from Miyoko’s tends to have a fairly clean, short ingredient list. 😊👍2 likesReply

ryster How do you cut your tomato like that? I consider myself competent at cooking at food prep, but I can't get them to slice like that and retain the seeds. I've tried super sharp knives, special cutters, varying degrees of ripeness and I just end up with the flesh 😢2 likesReply
tamiapple Happens to me too (a lot). In this case, I had a ‘just ripe’ tomato-on-the-vine, a sharp knife & I cut it a little bit fatter than my preference (for that very reason - of hoping it would stay together). I’m thinking it might have to do with tomato type? Do you have tomatoes-on-the-vine in your area? If so, have you tried them? Moving forward, I’ll definitely be noticing the difference with the various tomatoes I buy, thanks! 😊1 likeReply
