Fluffy and savoury! This waffle is topped with Japanese mayo, tangy Okonomiyaki sauce, and seaweed.

This was my first time trying an okonomiyaki, so I had no idea what to

expect. It’s a nice surprise for me. Full of taste, flavour, veggies and more taste. The different types of sauces drizzled over the dish are tasty, but maybe just a bit too much for me, let’s chalk it down to personal preference though. Overwhelmed with flavour.

Much love for what the MCC have done for Singapore. Fully vegan comfort foods (eg pho, pizzas, burgers, ice-cream and waffles). teas too. A happy place, in other words. it can be real stressful in Singapore, societal pressures, layers of oppression and discrimination, and a city where the death penalty is rife and the state continues to kill people. it’s sometimes nice to know there’s a little oasis you can hide for a bit.

Finally tried this before it closes. Great attempt at veganising this dish! Nice texture but

I do find the brown sauce a little too salty for my liking. Hope can still find this dish at their other restaurants!

9.90, giving it a high rating bc I haven’t seen something similar in sg yet

:) can’t tell if authentic bc I haven’t had the real deal but @cocothekoala thought it was p close!!! They also serve the sauce on a side in a squeeze bottle which is great

Different from the dessert waffles, these savoury waffles were made using What If Foods bamnut

milk and chickpea 'egg yolk'. Stuffed with crunchy shredded vegetables including purple cabbage, white cabbage, carrot, and turnip, then topped with housemade okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, and seaweed flakes. Savoury and best eaten hot. Interesting fusion dish albeit not exactly like okonomiyaki - would have liked have mushroom 'seafood'! ($9.90)

I was surprised to find vegetables inside. I think they were purple and green cabbage

as well as carrots. The waffle was fluffy and moist on the inside while being slightly crisp on the outside. The seaweed, mayo and okonomiyaki sauce combined gave an authentic Japanese taste. Definitely be back to taste this unique waffle! Oishii!

🥞🧂 Finally someone who thought of savory waffles. MCC even went all out to make

a Okonomiyaki version. Creative use of the waffles machine! Taste is great, one bite after the other. Mayo goes well, and sauce is up to your desired amount. Just squeeze the bottle~ the only thing I felt was... it would be great if i could have the option to add a small bowl of the same vege on the side, so i could balance out the waffle texture. It would also be great if MCC could start exploring gluten free options, e.g. oat flour. 😘

I'm quite mixed on this. The waffles itself are very fluffy, milky, sweet. Perfect for

ice cream.

But using milky and sweet waffles in a savory dish was a miss. I actually felt a little sad. Okonomiyaki that I was used to is a dense savory pancake. And this was not it. I appreciate the inventiveness and I did finish the waffle since I was hungry.
