VEGAN

Trader Joe's

Trader Joe’s vegan cream cheese achieves the subtle yet delicious flavor of traditional dairy cream cheese only this is oh-so-much better, as no animal ‘products’ are used in the making of this cheese.

I’ve found this cheese doesn’t spread as easily as other vegan cream cheese products, such as Tofutti or Myokos, nonetheless, it became easy to spread once warmed on a toasty bagel.

Made mostly from coconut oil, potato starch & chickpea protein. At $2.99 per package, they’ve reached price parity with national brands, which is great news, as so often vegan products cost more than their non-vegan counterparts, which can make it impossible for people who want to take a chance on trying something vegan.

danielgl Yummy! Cream cheese on a bagel is such a classic. And how cool is that about the pricepoint? 👏👏👏2 likesReply
tamiapple Yes, a classic indeed! 🥯 (& one I cannot live without!) & yes, price point matters so much - how can people try new things & adopt new ways of thinking about food if the food they’d like to try is financially out of reach? 2 likesReply
danielgl Exactly! It's time to democratize vegan options everywhere! ✊️2 likesReply

vikas I haven’t tried this one but my favorite is the Kite Hill almond milk cream cheese 🥯 3 likesReply
tamiapple Yes, love Kite Hill too! 🥯 While it’s a bit pricier than some of the other vegan cream cheeses, it has a simple ingredient list & great flavor. It’s also readily available in my neck-of-the-woods 👍1 likeReply
kyu Enjoyed reading this lovely review :-) price parity is a big deal — vegan options being $2+ more expensive has always driven me batty! 3 likesReply
tamiapple Thanks so much! 😊 & yes, price matters! Even if many can afford to pay a couple of dollars more for something, many simply cannot! 1 likeReply
