I didn’t HATE this, but it’s nothing like halloumi. Totally missed the mark on the signature halloumi “squeak”. I’ve made marinated tofu taste closer to halloumi than this. Tried straight from the packet then sliced and pan fried. Once cooked the texture was even weirder. Lucky this was only $2 on clearance, probably wouldn’t buy again.

It’s branded as a like halloumi so I pan fried it as such. It’s nothing like halloumi, but turned into sort of a fried rice cake texture. Also tried it as is in a salad which was sort of ok. It’s not something I’d buy again, just trying it out. #vegan #vegancheese #plantbased
I was excited to try this mock cheese as on the packaging it looks just like halloumi! (My favourite cheese pre-vegan) unfortunately when cooked in the same way as halloumi it turns into a gluey snot-like inedible substance BUT, when grated it is actually quite pleasant and perfect for a salad
So tasty. Had some neat and some I heated until it became soft and gooey. Loved both
