This is $6.50 for a can, which is a little pricey as compared to non-vegan
whipping cream. It used to only be available in online grocers like redmart, but now itās growing more common and readily available on your neighbour grocery stores (a win for us!).
However, this did not work for me because Iām dumb and canāt follow instructions haha. I wanted to bake a last minute Swiss roll and used this at room temperature. I didnāt bother to even read the instructions and just whipped it on a stand mixer. And obviously, it didnāt work :D It was only then foolish me decided to read the can and on it clearly stated CHILL POUR WHIP, and I didnāt even follow the first instruction of CHILL.
I put the bowl containing the mixture into the fridge and tried CHILLING it for a few hours whilst I went out for dinner. As the instructions stated CHILL OVERNIGHT, I clearly didnāt follow it yet again and tried to whip it once more. It didnāt work out again :D
This time, I finally decided to CHILL the mixture (in its bowl) overnight. The next morning, I tried whipping it again and it didnāt work :D The whole mixture was too watery and when I continued whipping on for a long time, it started separating. Awesome. I must have fucked up by WHIPping it too many time and POURing it without CHILLing.
I ended up just eating the Swiss roll cake portion (is it even called a Swiss roll at this point) on itself own :D What an adventure and a waste of my time and money all because of my dumb self.
It seems like everybody was able to get this right (unlike me) so I shanāt let this reflect in my ratings. Taste wise (from what I could taste from that liquid mixture), it is a little too coconut-ty for me as i donāt like the taste of coconut. It is also quite expensive so I doubt Iāll buy this again.
Just remember to CHILL this overnight, follow the instructions. And if you dislike the taste of coconut, this might not be for you.
