🇺🇸🥓I wanted to try this #veganbacon I saw in the freezer section. They also had it in the fridge section. It took much longer cooking to get it crispy and then it was kind of rubbery in the middle. It’s made from #mushroom and 4 other simple ingredients which is cool. I made all the omnivores in my family try this. Sadly none of us were incredibly inspired by this and I was wondering why Beyond Meat or Impossible haven’t made a #bacon yet. It’s not the healthiest either so I won’t be racing back for this. I think it was like $6 or 7. Healthier and better than eating an animal though. 🐷🐖 🥕Yuka: 🟠Poor 30/100

Some forms of vegan meat are pretty much perfect. Burgers, sausages, and chicken have really peaked. They can only get so much better. Bacon, however, has had a ways to go. It must be the fattiness that makes it a bit harder to replicate. I was very intrigued when I saw this new product at Whole Foods. This bacon is made from mushrooms! They're very simple and coated in coconut oil for that saturated fat. They're really smoky and I thought the flavor was great. I'm always afraid of over-cookoing vegan bacon because many brands get super brittle and burn easily. I ended up not cooking these as much as I probably should have. This made the texture a bit hard to bite through. I still thought they were great! They don't really have any nutritional value, but they're a nice flavor and made a great BLAT sandwich. I would get these again if I saw them on sale! #veganbacon #veganmeat #smoky #blt #sandwich #mushroom #mushroomlover #myceliummeat #arugula #tomato #tomatolover #avocado #veganmayo #simpleingredients

This is quite an interesting product! Once removed from the packaging, I saw clumps of white "fat" all over it that was a bit off-putting, but it quickly melted. This #veganbacon crisps up very nicely and is super flavorful/salty. It worked well on a sandwhich with some veggies to balance out the sodium content. Overall, it was very delicious/unique, and I would repurchase. Downsides are that it's expensive and has a strong, lingering scent when cooked. #magicmushrooms?!
