A friend of mine got this and shared a bit with me. I don’t recall ever having Brie before, so I can’t attest to how authentic it taste, but it was definitely unique. The rind was weird tasting, overall funky, just as described on the package. I wouldn’t describe this as tangy though as also described. My friend who got this actually loves Brie so he recalls very well what it tasted like before he went vegan. He was so amazed of how realistic this tasted that he actually became leery with whether this was truly vegan. He re-read the ingredients and hopes that no one would have the audacity of claiming their product as vegan when it’s really not. I don’t know about all companies, but I’m confident that Rebel is legit. I culture vegan cheeses too, and the taste is remarkably similar, and Rebel has even way more experience, learning from dairy experts, cave-aging, etc. This is pricey cheese, but considering that the taste and texture is so authentic and the time and effort they put into making these, I would say that this is very well worth it and a must try weather you love Brie or have never tried it before and curious to know what it taste like. If you are looking for a mind-blowing cheese experience and have some extra money to spend, I highly recommend checking out Rebel Cheese's online store. I tried four different cheeses from them, and I really loved them all. A lot of vegan cheese makers can only get one texture from their cheese, but Rebel has both soft and hard cheeses, and they're all packed with such distinct flavor! This traditional cave-aged brie was delicious. It's a bit scary eating something with a rind and that smells a bit moldy, but that's brie! This cheese is so soft. You can scrape this super creamy cheese off the rind and spread it on a baguette or cracker. It has a strong funky, fungal taste that I really enjoyed. It's also pretty salty, so a little goes a long way! They have really cracked the code for the cultures and methods used to make this aged cheese! They age this brie in a cave for at least two weeks so get this flavor. This company is a fully vegan cheese shoppe! My mom got a holiday board for Christmas online so it shipped with ice packs from Texas and each thing individually wrapped. This Brie is unbrielievable hehe cheesy puns 😁 The cheeses are so good it’s amazing how they are vegan. They surpass every other vegan cheese I’ve ever had and I’ve tried a lot.
