2860¥. Por +200¥ puedes añadir queso vegano. #veganfortheanimals #vegan #abillion #japanese #veganfriendly #veganisnotscary #beautybash #osaka #okonomiyaki #veganfood
This was a letdown. I visited the sister-restaurant of this place the night before and was super eager to try the Okonomiyaki one but I was very disappointed. First of all, unlike the Takoyaki restaurant, this one is not fully vegan nor vegetarian: it also serves dishes with meat. The line to order was huge and the dish was very bad. There was so much stuff on top of the Okonomiyaki that I couldn’t even taste the Okonomiyaki itself. At first I thought they forgot about it and just served me a plate full of stir fried veggies. The flavor was super bland despite the huge amount of sauce they poured on top. Since I was super hungry waiting in line for 40 minutes for this dish, once I was able to order I asked for the bigger portion and this was another mistake: I ended up leaving almost half my plate there because it was so bad and the portion was too big. If I can give you my 2 cents: this restaurant is fun and cute but nothing they serve is worth waiting in line for more than 30 minutes. I would suggest instead visiting a fully vegan restaurant and support them instead. #osaka #veganosaka #okonomiyaki #japanesefood #japan #veganjapanesefood #veganinjapan
Loved this veganized local dish! Made with cabbage and a soy pulp for the base, you can choose to add five veggies on top. There is a BBQ style sauce that has a great flavor, and optional vegan mayonnaise (loved it) and vegan cheese. The medium size is a LOT! Even my hungry husband found it filling, especially with some sides. There is definitely a good chance for a long wait, but there is a self service bar inside where you can make a mixed drink or pour a beer to enjoy in line on the street 👌🏼. The whole restaurant has cool vibes and is a fun environment, so the wait honestly didn't seem that bad. Food is definitely worth it, and we were so thrilled to find a veggie loaded dish!
Dinner here was not a meal, it was a whole experience. Let me explain: this is an okonomiyaki restaurant, with a full vegan menu, and a great reputation that brought me here. The restaurant is on the different floors: you order on the ground floor, where the lovely owner takes your order and then prepares it, and in the meantime you can go upstairs and look for a table, then she calls you back through a PA system when the food is ready. The owner is truly lovely and has filled the place with colors and fun, and also many signs explaining her story: she used to have some staff, but it was more expensive and the waiting times were still the same, so she decided to continue the operation by herself, and she kindly asks the guests to clean after themselves when they leave, to facilitate her job. Moreover, while you queue to enter the restaurant and also when you’re sitting at the table you can go fill yourself a glass of beer for only ¥200, that’s incredibly cheap! I had a great night here, made some friends (that beer might have helped) and will forever carry this experience with me 🥰 #okonomiyaki #japan #osaka #veganosaka #japanesefood
I wanted to try a plant based okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake) and found this place though the happy cow app. It's a cool/funky place and a one woman show! You can pick 5 vegetables for your okonomiyaki; I had green onion, carrot, eggplant, okra and Asparagus. The vegan cheese tasted amazing and I would definately recommend. The flour used is okara (soybean pulp) and not wheat, which is a cool way of incorporating some protein. I should note that this is NOT a traditional okonomiyaki, but it is certainly tasty nonetheless. The resto name is also a bit misleading as it sounds like it is vegan/vegetarian but they actually serve meat as well. It is a bit of a self serve vibe as well - you order and go sit, and she calls out your order number. Drinks are self serve as well.
