The #satay itself was nice! Made from Lion's mane mushrooms (Hericium erinaceus). #lionsmanemushroom The sauce was good but very oily and somehow didnāt taste like #peanut, despite there being obvious peanut pieces inside. This is where the positive stops. The #rice was sticky and cold, the two pieces of #cucumber were laughable, the four slices of fried #tempeh didnāt make it better. Some #cashews and an incredibly salty #sambal completed the drama. The #papadam on top was not crispy anymore. Honestly, I expected more from this popular place. Especially for RM21. #dobetter
The satay actually tasted better than meat satay #omnivoreapproved
The national dish of #Malaysia, Nasi Lemakš„³!! I actually forgot I went to Pinxin over the weekend & had my first dine-in there this year š± ..not that this dish was forgettable of course, I just got a little hungover the day after (unrelated) 𤪠The rice was perfect! Incredibly rich & aromatic, enriched with coconut oil, and made with a mix of red & white rice. Itās a shame I didnāt move the papadam for this shot š¤¦āāļø The dish was also served with acar, sambal, cashew nuts, & some lovely sweet tempeh 𤤠The hericium satay was delightful with the mushrooms being perfectly cooked & crunchy and the satay sauce incredibly rich, as if you were having peanut butter on rice š¤ #impactfulapril #autismawarenessmonth
