One of their signature items! Baked 'fish' on a bed of raw shredded cabbage, drenched in sambal sauce which was nice albeit oily. 🌶️ Tasty like what previous reviewers mentioned, though of note, it was the typical textured soy protein mock 'fish' and nothing exceptional to shout about. Appreciated the amount of veggies - apart from the raw cabbage, this set also came served with spinach in vegetarian oyster sauce. 🥬 I was here an hour before closing and they had run out of fragrant oil rice, so mine came with plain white rice instead. Wow! The baked fish was really good! Love the sambal. There’s shredded cabbage beneath the baked fish. Good size portion. Would return.
Super flavourful assam ‘fish’ baked with a banana leaf ($6.80) 🐟🍌 Their signature sauce is a harmonious, strong-tasting blend of sweet, spicy, tangy & savoury, which goes really well with the ‘fish’ that’s crisp in the outside and soft, moist and flaky on the inside. There’s also a lime for you to add been more tanginess to the dish! 🍋😋
Generous amount of sambal on 2-3 slices of mock fish made of soybean skin. The fish was baked on some cabbage and tomato which were very tasty and soft. The sambal was very good, right level of tang and flavour. There were bits of texture in it which I am not sure what mock bits but very nice. Taste of the rice and side veggies were so so but I appreciate that veggies were provided.
I enjoyed this but I probably would've enjoyed it more if they used another veggie, not fond of this one and there was a lot of it. The fish was nicely flavoured and there were 2 slices. Nice sambal chilli that was pretty spicy so I took a long time to eat, that coupled with the veggie. There's a bit of cabbage beneath the fish which is nice. Rice is slightly flavoured. Pretty fragrant meal for $6.80.
