Love Handle
Singapore’s first plant-based butcher with the largest curation of meat-free proteins.
Their waffle machine was down, so they offered to make pancakes instead (which I believe they ever served in the past). My non-veg family member declared it was exactly the same as the box pancake mix she usually used, till I reminded her that this was vegan so they couldn't possibly be using store-bought pancake mixes with milk powder. Then her eyes widened and she mused that their vegan pancakes were spot-on haha. Indeed the pancakes were perfectly soft and fluffy, and fragrant and sweet especially when drizzled with maple syrup! I actually hope they can continue offering pancakes in their menu instead of waffles, since there are already quite a few F&Bs in Singapore offering vegan waffles. Anyway it was supposed to be served with 2 pieces of #Tindle fried chicken, but I think they served me 1 large piece of #LoveHandle fried chicken breast instead. I guess they were short of ingredients that night? Regardless, the chicken was coated in crunchy golden batter with delectable spices that I really enjoyed. There was also a side of purple cabbage and carrot slaw to balance things out. An awesome sweet and savoury dish, albeit one that deviated quite a lot from the menu description / picture! The standard of tindle fried chikn has dropped. I will still give a chance to try the tindle burger 🍔
The chix has a layer of ‘uncooked batter’ between the crust and the tindle chix. Or is it the tindle chix is that soft? Waffles is like what I had before. (Dine in the first time) Not the crispy kinda waffles but still good. Or it may be cos it’s a take out hence it lost it’s ‘crisp’. The one thing that I love here is the coleslaw. So yummy 🤍🌱
It was a very interesting combination. The waffles were very good and I did not see the maple syrup till the last 2 bites and that also when it was pointed out by my wife. I was not enjoying the combination earlier. But with the maple syrup it gave an interesting twist.
Omg loved this!! First time trying Tindle and they fried it up so good. Even had a ‘fatty’ texture. The waffle was cakey and had a confectionery kinda taste. Great with the maple syrup! Would eat again!
