Dumpling soup at Real Food — xinru-t's Review (May 6, 2024)

Signature handmade dumplings wrapped in translucent skin, stuffed with a mixture of assorted chopped ingredients including carrots, mushrooms, French beans, celery, turnip, and tofu. 🥟🍄🫛 Non-veg friend said they reminded him of his childhood vegetarian student care centre meals hahaha not sure if that was a good or bad review exactly. 👀 Somewhat homey and heartwarming according to him! Definitely not 'meaty' like conventional dumplings, but still hearty in a different kinda way, similar to Teochew soon kueh filling. The clear broth was quite tasty (albeit slightly oily), and came with bok choy and carrot slices. 🍲🥬🥕 Would recommend the soup instead of dry version for the steamed dumplings, if you'd like them to stay moist and warm for a longer time!
