It's great to see animals back from extinction. But at what costs to the environment? These extinct animals will need to find their place in a new ecosystem already functioning without them..They speak of bringing back the more

vganbeast I think a lot of ecosystems currently in existence are pretty artificial already - human dominated. With 62% of all mammals alive today being "livestock animals" and 34% being humans, I see a lot of opportunity here for alternative ecosystems where other predators also can get a fair shot. Let's hope we won't consequently just keep the mammoths in tiny little cages in zoos....which I suspect would be very likely.

What can be done about the mere 4% of wild mammals, when humans are already complaining about them and about how there is no room for wolves to be properly reintroduced and people listening to farmers and fairytales? Maybe I'm viewing this from the viewpoint of my country in particular, where this is a huge issue, perhaps it's different in India or the USA where you could be confronted with wild predators still....4 likesReply

zarreen I'm my opinion we are asking for trouble, playing with nature.. first we lead them to extinction and later we bring them back in a totally different time, environment etc etc
We cut down their living spaces
Where will these huge mammals live/procreate? in an enclosure? 😭
What if accidentally they escape from these torture chambers?
A few minutes of freedom then shot down?
Absolutely inhumane and cruel are most of us humans!!

janke66 I think they are beautiful animals but not sure if a good idea. I live in the Netherlands and there was the initial excitement of wolves being spotted in 2015. Now there are complaints they are causing issues.2 likesReply

I would truly love to see the Dodo, and feel we owe it back to nature to bring them back..on the other hand, the amount of money invested In these projects are millions, which rather can be used for conservation purposes for those that are close to extinction...4 likesReply

cloudyaquilegia Oh, I see it happens to guys too. There was a period I didn't enter on abillion anymore because of the "hey beautiful"-scammers. Some even continued writing even if I didn't answer. One guy was more polite, so I answered and explained him abillion is not a dating platform...but actually it bothered me a lot10 likesReply

vikas It really sucks! I’m surprised but also laughing at myself being surprised. I guess this sort of thing is inevitable. We are in the midst of adding new security features so hopefully that will prevent some of this, but people who are genuinely assholes will find a way sadly and not care about being disguised or discovered. 7 likesReply
