Thicc fusion burger stacked with all the distinctive components of nasi lemak~ 🍔 This was originally the 2023 National Day special 🇸🇬 but became part of the regular menu! Notably, the dish incorporated a number of #sglocal brands of plant-based substitutes. The highlight for me was the tender #okk 'otak' spicy grilled fish paste which was spot-on in taste with the seasoning and seaweed! 🌶️ The weak link IMO was the fried #dynameat 'chicken' patty. The turmeric batter was crunchy but dripping in oil, while the soy-based 'meat' itself had a somewhat artificial aftertaste. 🍗 It might not have been the Dynameat product itself with issues, but perhaps the way it was cooked didn't do it justice? 🥲 Other ingredients included @onlyeg #onlyeg omelette crepe, sambal-infused vegan mayonnaise which was creamy but somehow tasted a bit like nacho cheese sauce to me, chopped peanuts, and vegan 'ikan bilis' that I personally found slightly tough to chew. 🍳🥜 Served with a bucket of crispy fries, cucumber slices, and sambal dip. 🍟🥒 Overall a unique burger, though I wasn't sure if all the ingredients went well together in a single bite, not to mention the fact that it was kinda messy to eat. I personally would have preferred this as a coconut rice dish - or maybe quinoa or couscous if we're trying to be creative! ($20) #sgvegan #veganoptions #burger #veganburger
