Review of Greek Chickpeas With Parsley & Cumin - Trader Joe's by iszy
This isn't something I would usually buy because it seems easy to make by just buying a cheaper can of chickpeas and seasoning them yourself. However, I saw a video about a super quick Mediterranean-inspired mashed chickpea sandwich using these and I just thought I'd try it out. I've actually never tried a mashed chickpea sandwich before even though they're so popular.
This can of chickpeas comes already seasoned and in a flavorful marinade. They're quite high in sodium at about 30% of your daily recommended intake (a regular can of chickpeas from TJ's is only at 6%). These are flavorful so it does make sense! These made a really delicious Mediterranean-inspired smashed chickpea sandwich. All you do is add the contents of this can to a bowl with about 4 dolmas, a big spoonful of hummus, and a sprinkle of vegan feta to taste. After mashing, add the mixture between two slices of bread and cook it on the stove top in a little olive oil to get a nice crispy sandwich!
