Big cheers to Ed Winters and Company for starting this Vegan Fish n Chips Restaurant.
I had a day out on Brighton Beach with family and suggested this might be the place for late lunch. I don’t know about you but I’m always a bit nervous about suggesting a completely vegan place to others, in case the food is not to their liking and puts them off the idea of going vegan. Well, no danger of that at No Catch. Everyone loved their choice and said quote, “It’s better than Fish”.
The #vegancod texture was really good, just the right degree of chewy. The layer of seaweed gives it a distinctive ‘of the sea’ taste sensation. There were plenty of delicious piping hot chips, with a gherkin on the side and a little tub of tartare sauce to share.
I chose the regular sized Cod which cost £11.49 and was ample.
The homemade tartare and gherkin were each 99p.
The staff were lovely. It was great to relax and know that everything on the menu was cruelty free.
They have a really good playlist on the go and it’s right on the sea front.
I hope #tofish will be championed as Great British food one day soon.
