Review of Boursin dairy free Garlic and Herbs - Boursin by beckyyy

I fully admit I’m late to the game with this one. I avoided purchasing this for so long as I usually don’t care for vegan cheeses that are not nut or seed based and, at full price, I thought it was a pretty big risk of wasting both food and money to buy this. I recently found this close to expiring package at Grocery Outlet for .99. As it was near expiry and a fate of possible waste, it was a perfect time to give it a try.

To my surprise, I am really enjoying it! The texture is a bit more crumbly than I expected but the flavor is great! Many times I get overwhelmed with a “dairy tang” kind of flavor with oil/starch cheeses but either this one doesn’t have that or the garlic just overpowers it too well! It’s quite garlicky but I’m a garlic girl so it’s a good match. I do wish the herbs came through a titch more. I never had the original so I cannot compare it to that.

I’ve enjoyed it with crackers and also as a spread on a vegan chicken burger.

I prefer other spreadable cheese for crackers/dipping/etc so I’d purchase those over this at full price but I’d certainly pick this up again at a discount or even perhaps at full price once in a while for a change of pace.
