Mushroom Dip sandwich at La Tour Cafe — bandita's Review (May 14, 2023)

My non-vegan friend and I really enjoyed this. It has a variety of mushrooms and caramalized onion. I didn’t tell her that everything on the menu here is vegan (except for most of the macarons), but she overheard me ask the cashier if the cheese is vegan (I still always double check, since one never knows when they’ll change). When they said yes, she told them to leave it out of hers. Nonetheless, she kept raving about how this is the best sandwich she has ever had and texted her other friends here in Oahu about this place, and insisted that I take her here again on her next visit! I have no issue with that because I love this place too and want to try everything on their menu.

This came with a broth to dip in. My friend didn’t care for it. I did, but still had a lot left when I finished my sandwich. She gave me hers so I took it home and made a mushroom gravy out of it and used it for homemade loco moco. It was really good. Despite the pricey $15+, it wasn’t bad for me because 1/2 a sandwich was good for 1 meal for me, I saved the other half for another meal, and then enjoyed the broth as a gravy for 2 more meals.
