Review of Coconut Chocolate Cookie - Talenti Gelato by knorthway
This Coconut Chocolate Cookie gelato by Talenti is yummy with layers of coconut gelato, cookie crumble that resembles granola, and a smooth chocolate layer that reminds me of hot fudge only cold. Because this stuff has a lot more sugar than the average non-dairy ice cream (a whole 34grams per serving!), I don’t often buy it. Another reason I typically pass it up is because I don’t love the packaging. Sure, the clear plastic gives the gelato a nice presentation but let’s face it, it’s not friendly for the planet. 🌎 I’d much rather buy a paper-based packaged pint of ice cream than this hard plastic. Considering Talenti is owned by Unilever, I’m not surprised they’ve prioritized the presentation of this gelato over the logistics of how it will effect the planet and where it will end up after being consumed. So many plastics are not recyclable and unless someone chooses to upcycle this container, it will very likely end up in a landfill. 😔
The recycle triangle ♻️ on the bottom of the container is soo tiny that I can barely read which number it is. I think it’s a #1PP, so I may be able to recycle it at New Seasons.🤞
