VEGAN

Seggiano

I love basil pesto!!! I would normally make my own but basil leaves from the store are insanely expensive in Singapore 🇸🇬 and because of the humidity it’s a bit hard to grow naturally without pesticides. So I end up buying jars of pre-made pesto sauce. There are a few available now that are vegan but the only one that’s truly exceptional is made by #seggiano. It has an incomparable freshness and is made using cashews and olive oil, unlike all the other vegan pesto sauces that use tofu and sunflower oil.

The results are fantastic! One jar is enough for about 500 grams of pasta. The only downside is the one place in Singapore where I could get this is out of stock most of the time and raised the price 50%, thanks #supernature 🧐

vikas I would love that! And some tips on how you take care of basil here. Mine always ends up getting the white bugs on the stems. 2 likesReply
piggy-egg 1. Usually I spray with Chilli water. 2. Check the leaves more often. Remove the pest and the affected leaf will be faster. 3. You can also spray enzymes. 4. If there is any weak leaf or broken leaf remove it so pest won’t attack it. 5. You can also have a good drainage soil medium. For any Mediterranean herbs, 70-80% pumice, plus remaining equal soil+perlite+compost. So far I see the rosemary, dill, Cuba oregano, mint, basil using this quite healthy! 6. You need to keep harvesting and it will be more healthier and grow bushy. Some people use neem oil or sulfur soap. 3 likesReply

fulfilling I bought the organic Thai Basil plant from Poison Ivy restaurant, it is so beautiful, flowers bloom and even butteries came to 7th floor. I love the fragrance of the leaves. They just melt my heart. It was doing very well till white bugs visited other plants and hopped onto the Thai Basil plant. It is a very sturdy plant and a survivor too. Though its glory and full blossoms of leaves are gone now, the new leaves that continue to emerge are so beautiful…Reply
