VEGAN

Sayang's

I had really high expectations... sadly this cake was a little disappointing. We let it thaw for 30 minutes as instructed (slightly longer in fact) but the cake itself was still a little dry and crumbly (almost the way a gluten free cake would crumble). The layers of cake were sort of detached from the frosting layers too.

Flavour wise, we found the cake itself not chocolatey enough! Maybe it’s because Sayang’s uses less sugar so they also reduce the amount of cocoa powder in the cake? My family all preferred Zee and Elle’s vegan choc cake!

But on a positive note, the mint chocolate frosting was perfect 👌🏼 Minty but not too minty! And not overwhelmingly sweet either.

byobottlesg i had the same experience (dry and crumbly) when i ordered last year :-( but most of the reviews are really good so i was quite confused!Reply
cherishyeo Hello @sophiagoh and @byobottlesg, thank you both for your feedback! We are sorry to get to this only now. Based on your review, it seemed that the cake was not warmed up enough. We do recommend letting the cake sit at room temperature for 30-60min, and see that the ganache glistens (an indication it is soft enough to cut). If it cracks while cutting, let it sit longer. Generally, we hear that our cakes are moist, rather than dry. We are glad to hear that otherwise, the mintiness and sweetness worked well for you. :) - Cherish from Sayang'sReply
