LAST DAY ON THE 29TH OF AUG! Disclaimer: Easily my top 3 fav sides but the price and presentation made it 4-stars. These mediocre-looking mushroom skewers may just throw you off! These shiitake were so sweet; The fried skin was also lightly crisp and flavourful. A tad of chilli peppers might just spice it up even more! XD P.S. Please buy it with a meal, else it’s $4.80; There were 3 skewers but I accidentally ate 1 :p

Sorrryyyy!! I forgot the exact name but it’s about 5 words long. This is a side dish from Clef Cafe. Priced at $4.80 (per portion of 4) if purchased ala carte. Consider getting this as a side when you order their (rice, porridge & noodles) set meals instead. Although a little pricey, it was packed w a burst of sweetness from the corn and saltiness from the “spring roll-like” ingredients within! There is a tinge of tanginess (it sticks but not in a bad way — probably a mayo substitute), and it was ridiculously crispy and firm. The ingredients within did not crumble like a mess, providing a very addictive bite😋

Y’all HAVE to try this! Although the ‘duck’ is primarily substituted with chunks of mushrooms of varying types, the texture of the mushrooms looks so similar to that of omni’s duck (swipe ⏩) Priced at $5.80 (ala carte), this is a notch better than the porridge version for the noodles, although eggy, were freshly cooked and evenly coated with the duck gravy. Great addition of veggie on the side for the extra crunch that was absent in the porridge. P.S. The Clef closing on 29th August so please support if you can!

There's some generous portions of dumplings and the option to top up noodles as well. However, soup got soaked up by the noodles, maybe good to request for more soup instead.

The portion was quite big, end up eating until very filling. They are kind and generous with the portion, would usually ask the customers if they want extra rice/noodles. The gravy was well-made with a mix of veg duck meat which is absolutely tasty.

The Bacon Rolls are kinda crispy with the fried enoki mushrooms in it, it was perfect. Would wish to have more rolls in the bento. Do support the restaurant if you can as their lease is almost up this month, they might be continuing on the lease if they win the bid.

Decent duck congee but I felt it didn’t live up to the praises by others for this dish. Given its price point of $5.10 for takeaway, I expected better. An assortment of mushrooms and really flavourful gravy but the congee itself was over-cooked (maybe because I bought it in the evening) and a little mushy. Otherwise, the flavour was like the non-vegan kway chap! Sprinkles of green onion and coriander would be great!

The ngoh hiang was affordably priced at 5 for $4.80, but it’s cheaper purchased with a congee (and other sets) set meal. It was well deep-fried, fragrant and moist inside. Classic crisp on the outside, the ngoh hiang is a good choice of sides / finger food to end off a meal!
