This was my dessert with the tasting menu. The dessert was the only dish that we were able to choose, from a selection of what was available that night. As soon as I heard the words salted caramel I decided to opt for this Tiramisu, which had it as an ingredient. Unfortunately I couldn’t really taste it that much inside the tiramisu, it tasted more like a regular one, but it was pleasant regardless. It probably didn’t help that I was super full and had a really hard time finishing it. Another good dish from the tasting menu at Shakti: hummus with homemade falafels, spinach and a polenta chip. The falafels were soft and delicious, different from the ones I usually get at middle eastern restaurants because they were not fried, but very good nonetheless. This was the 4th dish of the menu and I have to admit it was very difficult for me to finish it, I was already full. #brescia #veganfriendly #veganrestaurant #falafel #hummus #falafellover #hummuslover

This was probably my favorite dish from this tasting menu: spinach Spätzle with a hint of lemon. I really loved the twist given by the lemon in this one. The spätzle were soft and creamy, with a very pleasant taste. I also loved how they played with the textures by also adding a little bit of crumble. It was the second first course (first one was the rice) of a 5-course menu. I don’t know the price of this dish alone, however the 5-courses were 39€. #spätzle #veganfriendly #tastingmenu #brescia

Ok I don’t know if this was the actual name of the dish, because again, there was no mention of it in the menu. It was one of the 2 first dishes part of the 5-course menu. It was a tasty rice cooked in spices accompanied by a coconut cream. The presentation, like all other dishes, was very neat and curated. I enjoyed its taste however I wouldn’t come back for this alone. The tasting menu price was 39€ for the 5 courses. #tastingmenu #brescia #veganfriendly #veganfriendlyrestaurant #rice

Shakti Food is a restaurant that serves a fully plant-based menu. When they welcomed us they explained they don’t list their dishes on the menu because they usually have a tasting menu that changes constantly and some dishes are “hard to explain”. For us it was fine because we wanted to do the tasting regardless, but we found the explanation to be a little odd. In the menu they had a lot of pages dedicated to random information (like how the vibration of the food we eat impact our health, or why drinking Coca Cola is bad for you) but nothing about the dishes they served 😅 The place is very neat, it has a nice atmosphere and the staff is kind. We opted for the 5-course menu and this was the appetizer: it had a small salad (delish), a small tempeh skewer and a “potato hummus” as they called it. Everything tasted good but the little salad was probably the thing I enjoyed most.
