My friend bought this on our trip to Kauai at Hoku Foods Natural Market, which is in Kapa’a, the heart of where all the tourists, hotels, and resorts are. He’s my travel/adventure buddy and I’m the geeky one who does most of the planning (what to do, where to go, and pack some of my own food), so I was happy that this store offered some vegan fixings that he was willing to try (he won’t try anything I prepare) for sandwich’s to pack for our outings. This bread was a good choice. The background is a lunch bag that has freezable gel packs built in, which helped keep our lunches fresh until lunchtime. My friend is very selective and not mindful about budgeting and will be quick to throw out food that he doesn’t like (unlike me, who will try to doctor something I don’t like), so the fact that he was eating 2 slices of this almost every day says something. He had several slices left after our trip, but since his luggage was out of space, and I had plenty space left, since I ate most of the food that I had packed with me (and I already had extra to begin with), he let me keep the rest, and of course, I didn’t turn down his offer because then I could give this a try and #sharethatrainbow 🌈 from some of our outings, along with #reviewwithaview and #reviewwithnature The slices are thick and hearty. I’ve been making sandwiches with my leftover Tofurky deli slices, Chao cheese, Follow Your Heart Chipotle, Kite Hill Cream Cheese, clover sprouts, slices of cucumber, avocado, and tomato 🥒🥑🌱🍅🥪, and then fold the slice in half. Despite my large quantity of fixings, it holds very nicely and adds a really nice flavor, especially when toasting it. I would absolutely buy this if I ever find a good deal, which Down to Earth here in #hawaii often offers in their Reduced section. There’s no Down to Earth in Kauai, so I was grateful to find Hoku Foods. #bread #sourdough #sandwhiches #hiking #travel #kauai
