These #tempura #tofu bites are from Aldi UK, costing £1.99 for a box. Plant Menu is almost a guaranteed delicious item and these definitely were! Perfect tempura coating that crisped up nicely with a delicious sweet chilli sauce. Absolutely tasty! I’m glad we grabbed two boxes!! Really tasty fried nuggets of tofu. I prefer tofu to meat alternatives so these really hit the spot for me. Sweet chilli sauce was a nice addition
These don’t taste like #tempura at all! It feels like typical british batter on chicken nuggets. It doesn’t taste bad, just misleading marketing. The sweet chili sauce was average. Probably wouldn’t get this again unless it were a party snack. #tofu #tofulover #veganisnotscary
I was super excited for these, but wasn't crazy on the taste 😞. The texture was lovely, but the batter flavour didn't feel quite right. It tastes like the batter on their battered sausage. It didn't really go with the katsu sauce I paired it with - maybe it'd be better cooked as part of another type of cuisine.
