This Peppermint Tart from Yum Baker was alright. I guess when I bought it I was expecting a classic peppermint crisp tart - but the peppermint was way too subtle for my liking and there wasn’t really any “crisp” element that I had hoped for 🤪 Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. It was also very rich - it looks like a very small dessert, but I couldn’t finish it all in one go. If you’ve ever had the mylkshakes at Kaylee’s Eatery, the cream in this tart tastes a lot like the cream used to top the Kaylee’s mylkshakes. I’m not a fan of that cream and because the cream was almost the main thing in this tart, I’m not sure I would get it again. Although it wasn’t what I was expecting, it satisfied my craving for a nice vegan dessert and I think it’s fantastic that there are so many ready-made vegan desserts available 🤷🏼♀️ Featuring Mango 🥭🐈 #veganinsouthafrica #veganin2023 #veganfortheanimals #catsofabv #catsofabillion #forthedollar #fortheanimals #forthepartners #dollardeserving #dollardeservingreview #dessert
This is a rich, creamy, indulgent, droolworthy treat! So refreshing to see locally made vegan products readily available in mainstream supermarkets! This one is more creamy than sweet, and our little family of three shared one portion and it was more than enough.
Good one, perfect taste, just wish there was more of it. Big tub!
I’m just excited to have a dessert option. I immediately have to try any new vegan treats that I find. I would’ve been more impressed if it were a little cheaper-it was R42.99. Perfect balance of textures and minty-ness. It could’ve been a little fresher but it was nice. I might try more of their stuff but I don’t know of it would ruin my day if I didn’t see it in store.
