My friend got this for me last weekend on July 5, #nationalappleturnoverday, but I held off on trying it out that day, because I wanted to get some vanilla ice cream first because to me, an apple dessert is incomplete without that. However, it turned out that my store didn’t carry vegan vanilla, and Cookie Dough was the closest I could find. I followed the instructions, but in my toaster oven instead of a regular oven. It turned out so golden and crispy, a little too much, so next time I need to shorten the time, but otherwise this was so yummy. Really flaky and crispy with chunks of soft (but not too soft) cinnamon apples inside. It paired nicely with my ice cream and Coco whip, but would have even been better with just plain vanilla, so I will save the other three in this package for when I get that.  This pack is about $8 at our Safeway, which seems pricey, especially when you open it and just find four thin pastries, but after you bake them, they poof up to a really good size. and when you think about it having costed about $2, it seems like a really good deal, because this would certainly cost a lot more at a restaurant. Not that this is anywhere near healthy, but I appreciate that this has a bit of iron, which compliments the vitamin C in the apples, making it more absorbable.  #apple #dessert #pastry

Question/concern Per ingredients on package : vegetable oil ( palm, soybean) see photo Would this still be considered vegan since its not animal derived but animals are abused to obtain. And what does it mean Palm?? Palm what oil or what??
So glad I found these accidentally vegan apple turnovers. They are delicious. But next time I’ll use one of my icing recipes to add on top.
Scrumptious! I just discovered these and am so happy that they happen to be completely vegan! I toasted mine on the comal and the outside came out all crispy and the inside super sweet. Such a throwback flavor! It’s like a mini pie ☺️
These are tasty my mom made these years ago when I was young she would sprinkle powered sugar on top .They are not healthy but a treat . I always feel things tasted better years ago must have been my moms love ♥️#Veganisnotscary
