Unfortunately it's hard to get EPA and DHA from foods on a vegan diet, with

a few exceptions. ALA, a fatty acid that can be found in a variety of vegan sources (e.g. chia and flax seeds, walnuts), can be converted into EPA and DHA in the body, but it is an inefficient process. For that reason, I personally take a DHA + EPA supplement made from algae oil. This is the most cost effective brand I could find, $45 for a two month supply on Amazon. I previously used a Nature's Made product, but it unfortunately was discontinued. Nordic naturals' version was a good substitute

Love having vegan options for Omega 3’s on the market! I trust this brand

and take this supplement daily.

A bit pricier than the Deva Omegas I usually buy, but it does contain more

mgs. These were however the first vegan algae omegas I have found in stores so the convenience is definitely a plus too.

More I learn about essential fatty acids, the more I wonder why DHA+EPA isnt right

up there with b12 as posterboy of supplements plant based eaters gotta take. We have no problem getting ALA via seeds, nuts, greens, avocado etc but without eating algaes like spirulina, chlorella, nori, seaweed, certainly not messing with fish, fish oil, other meats and dairy, we're getting next to nothing in DHA and EPA as the conversion rate from ALA is ~0.5% at best. Asking for issues down the road with brain, heart, eyes it seems.

I don't like the softgel ingredients but couldnt find any other options. The capsules are small, easy to swallow. I like the third party certification. One star knocked off for virgin plastic.

I got these when Mylie Cyrus mentioned having brain fog on a vegan diet. Gosh

get omegas by eating algae so this is a way to skip the fish and get right to the source! I’ve taken 2 capsules a day for about 2 months now. Haven’t noticed any difference but I can say they have no taste and none of that gross burping after non vegan alternatives.
