Beautiful stuff. Use it however you wish, it’s all good. Contains #soy, as you

might expect. They’re labelled as sustainable soybeans, which from their web means they’re certified deforestation-free?
Cauldron’s got a range of vegan items, mainly flavours of tofus, and also falafels. for a brief moment they had vegan sausages, but have since decided to revert to a non-vegan recipe. 🤷‍♀️

Great source of protein and calcium. I fry mine with some plant butter and it's

delicious. Quick and easy goes well with some quinoa and rice

I haven’t tried the Cauldron tofu before. It seems to be a relatively unprocessed product,

containing #sustainablesoybeans and water and one other ingredient #calciumsulphate which is a mystery to me so I looked it up. It is a food additive used as an anticaking agent, dough conditioner and strengthener, flour treatment agent, pH regulator, thickenner and yeast food. Not sure whether it’s that good as a food additive. When I checked for safety, I read that The Food and Drug Administration classifies calcium sulfate as GRAS - generally recognized as safe. I can’t say Iwas all that reassured. So if anyone knows more about this ingredient I’d love to hear about it #abillionknowledge
Back to the tofu. It needed pressing to extract excess water - 15/20minutes. I opted to fry it. It stuck to the pan unlike other brands I buy and I wished I’d seasoned it or marinaded it first as it was very bland. However, once cooked it worked well as a protein element with a homemade vegan Caesar salad. The delicious dressing of mayo blended with #tahini and #capers made up for the plain tofu.
It’s a #carbonneutral product and well priced at £2.65 in #waitrose

My go to tofu. I find this to be pretty versatile and I tend to

either marinate and air fry cubes or crumble it as tofu scramble.

Going to be honest and say I don’t have a great deal of experience with tofu so I can’t say whether it’s firm enough to be called firm (although I think it’s quite a soft texture before pressing).

Either way I enjoy this brand, it’s affordable and easily found in most supermarkets in the UK.
