It may still be hot out there but fall is just around the corner - that means chili! Made with Abbot's ground 'beef' which, while the seasoning carried the taste of the dish, worked quite well.

Pleasantly surprised with this product! I’m not big on meat analogs but this had a nice umami flavor profile
I feel much more confident eating this ground “beef” than the other popular brands because of the list of ingredients: pea protein, tomato paste, evoo, porcini mushroom, sea salt, onion powder, organic apple, cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, mustard seed, vinegar, lemon juice, ginger root, coriander, thyme. I am impressed. 18 grams of protein. Have added it to tomato sauce, chili and lasagne. I will never go back to any other ground “beef.” Not to make a burger out of, however, although maybe the website has a recipe.
I kept passing this wondering why tf they put it next to the vegan products. Took the time to realize it is pea meat appealing to carnists with the butcher packaging and branding. I confirm this stuff is realistic, savory and tastier than any real ground beef.
My friend’s brother works for this company, who was kind enough to send some product to try. I love how relatively clean, and limited the ingredients are, compared to other plant based meat products. It has a good, fairly neutral flavor, which isn’t too prominent like Beyond Meat. It also doesn’t have any weird ingredients like heme, so it doesn’t change color when you cook it. This was great for tacos, and I’ll definitely be purchasing it. #glutenfree
