Lovely #seitan #stew served with #sweetpotato #puree. This dish was so hearty! Huge chunks of tender seitan stewed in a thick broth along with #redpepper, #carrot, #zucchini, #cherrytomatoes and #onion. The sweet potatoes were a nice compliment to the savory stew, and this plate is more than filling!! Priced at 15€. Yum yum yummmm!! This #energybar was likened to a #snickers so I had to order it, and wow, did it deliver! The thick #chocolate covering was a sweet contrast to the interior layers. On the bottom was a soft and crumbly cookie-like layer, the middle tasted like creamy caramel, then the top was filled with salty #peanuts. There was #seasalt sprinkled on the outside which added pops of flavor to the ensemble. It really did remind me of a Snickers bar!! My only gripe was a slight coconut flavor somewhere, but it wasn't enough to stop me from gobbling down this wonderful treat. Happy Cactus now has #filtered water! Yes, yes we all know that #water is vegan, I wanted to highlight this option that eliminates the waste of bottled water! This is premium filtered by #culligan, tastes great and is super refreshing in the restaurant's own custom bottles that are washed after use and reused. Note that on the menu there is no indication about this, it just has H20 listed. We were so surprised and delighted when it arrived to our table! Priced at 2,50€ for 500ml. This dish is true comfort food - stewed #seitan in a #wine sauce on a bed of #mashedpotato and topped with #shoestringpotatoes!! The chunks were tender and "meaty," and smothered in a rich sauce that had hints of barbecue smokiness. The bed of #mashedpotatoes had nice chunks among the silkiness, and the skins were in there, too, delicious. The crunchy shoestring potatoes on top added a nice texture contrast and confirmed that this was a dish for any #potatolover. This filling portion is priced at 15€. We are so fortunate to have this 100% #allveganrestaurant in our seaside village, it has been here for years and hopefully years to come! Look at this amazing plate of food - #blackbeans, #basmatirice, Heura chunks, plump juicy #corn, #avocado and #picodegallo!!! The black beans were so tender and earthy, and was it lime that I tasted to give it a tropical zing? Basmati rice was the perfect compliment and the pico de gallo a nice texture contrast (I would have loved some heat in it, TBH). The creamy avocado was at its peak of ripeness, and the Heura chunks were sublime, sauteéd with peppers and red onion. Priced at 15€ for this very filling plate. Calling all #avocadolovers out there!! This starter was out of this world, super delicious in its simplicity. A perfectly ripe, creamy #avocado half filled with tenderly cooked #quinoa and fresh veggies like #cucumber, #redpepper and #redonion along with #raisins - both golden and brown. The dressing is divine, sweet and tangy pulling together all the flavors and textures. All of this on a bed of fresh, crisp lettuce to provide a lovely crunch to it all. Happy Cactus is another MUST when you visit Fuerteventura. It is an #allveganrestaurant that has been around for years, serving up healthy, tasty fare along with singular smoothies and juices and sumptouous desserts. Lovely, #sparkling #lemonade made with certified Siracusa lemons from Italy. Just look at the lemon content in the bottle before I shook it carefully! I usually don't order this type of beverage because of the sugar content but was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was, with the right balance of tart and sweet. Here they have an extensive list of smoothies, juices and healthy organic beverages to choose from. Just look at the color on this dish! Tender, oven #bakedeggplants stuffed with #soytexturized, #veggies, #tomatosauce and topped with two kinds of #vegancheese ( #veganparmesan and #vegancheddar) over a bed of house #salad and yellow and red #cherrytomatoes. The ample, seasoned stuffing included #redpepper, #garlic and #onion in addition to chunks of eggplant. The overall flavor was sublime, and the combination of flavors and textures impressive. Nice, crisp white wine with pear andd citrus notes, especially lime. It has a slight sparkling quality and accompanied perfectly our vegan taco dishes. This is a local, ecological (organic) wine from neighboring Tenerife.
