
It's small and simple but an enjoyable and unique melange of flavours. Good for sharing. Who knew that edible flowers could go well with jackfruit and eggplant.
Love the colour and presentation. I am not a huge fan of egg plant. However, I like that the eggplant is not mushy, but dry. Felt little disappointed with the portion of jackfruit though. Could not really taste much of it! High price point, hence, I may not order this dish again on my next visit!
I absolutely enjoyed this dish! They reused the grilled eggplant skin and made it into the sauce that goes with it. The jackfruit was done fantastically, flavour and texture goes well with the soft eggplant.. it almost tastes like minced meat! And love that there are lots of fresh greens and toasted cashews. This cost $30++ which is a little too pricey I feel. But it's a quality dish.
This was the main we had as part of the 5-course vegan tasting menu ($75++) for dinner. Grilled eggplant with pulled jackfruit. Great bite and delicious roast! For me, the sauces that accompanied the food was a little too overwhelming and overpowered the taste of the eggplant and jackfruit seasoning. It's Chinese zichar type of sauce, delicious but could have been more subdued for balance. I much prefer the garden pesto pasta main.
Love the jackfruit from Karana on top of the eggplant. Super delicious but it was too salty and too greasy for me. More balance would take that dish to perfection.
