I ain’t never seen it tasted a #butterchicken dish like this! It’s simply a shame that this branch closed down as I’m reviewing this over half a year later 🥲 I believe there was chatter of the chef going MIA 😶‍🌫️ The #rice beneath this pile of nutrients was dryer than I’d like. However, it makes sense with how much moisture every other component holds 😮 Their take on the butter is a uniquely more #aromatic and #spice-y sauce of richness! The creaminess is reminiscent of a curry-like consistency. Hence, the #thicc coating of the, already, juicy pieces of #mockchicken 😛 While firm, it contrasted with the crunchy saltiness of the crisps. Then, the refreshing bite of mildly seasoned #cabbage and #longbeans comes in to clear all the grease. Not to mention, they even provided a side of clear #coriander infested soup to wash it all down 😜 $7.50 was well worth this behemoth of a portion 😝 I’m always leaving this place feeling like a ball 🙃 You will be missed Gokul 🥲

Soy 'chicken' chunks stir-fried in a sweet and spicy sauce with lemongrass. I've never eaten the real deal, but found this pretty spicy and toothsome. You have to be fine with mock meats to like the dish, personally would prefer whole foods like monkeyhead mushrooms! I appreciate that we can enjoy some of the popular dishes at Gokul but with a healthier balance of vegetables - stir-fried cabbage and carrot, long beans, as well as chye sim. Green rice served with a small piece of fried soy 'fish' which I personally wasn't a fan of as it was kind of bland despite being fried; would have preferred 'otah' or fried tofu and tempeh instead! Also came with a generous heap of roasted peanuts and crispy 'ikan bilis' (deserving of a special shout-out since most vegan 'ikan bilis' tend to be very tough to chew), really good sambal chilli, and papadum crackers. Appreciated that there were lots of vegetables - cucumber slices, stir-fried cabbage and carrot, long beans, as well as chye sim. (Allium-free, $7.50) #sgvegan #socialenterprise #minorityowned
