in Singapore

🍲 Have not had a Bakso or beef ball soup for a good 9 years

& am so excited to see this vegan version on the menu
🍲 Warning! The meat ball looks & tastes like meat! The soup tastes like bakso soup with the same oily bone broth from my memory
🍲 The use of Indonesian spices is just like the sinful streeside stall & then the classy restaurants remakes in Jakarta I used to eat from.
🍲 The meatball is made from Impossible minced meat so it is entirely vegan. One bowl of soup comes with 3 large soft balls with tofu & veggies
🍲 The restaurant did such a great job creating this vegan version. So folks who are after the real bakso will really enjoy this.
🍲 For me, it is so real that I am no longer used to the look, feel, bite and taste of meat.
🍲 Will I still eat mockmeat? I think I will still try. But I wont be ordering this Bakso soup anymore as it is too real. So sorry that is why I give it a lower star rating instead of 5 stars.

Wouldn't have thought they'd come up with a bakso dish so soon! There's people saying

how you miss out on so much food as a vegan but it's the opposite once you know where to get the good stuff! Warung Ijo's one of my favourite restaurants of all time in Singapore! This soup was really flavorful! Tofu cubes, veggies and of course bakso balls. I used to have bakso every other day couple years back and because it was made with beef it's really gamey and heavy. #bakso #indonesian

Never tried bakso soup before so idk what to expect. It’s flavourful but I found

it to be slightly salty. Quite a generous amount of tofu in there with two mushroom(?) balls and some veggies.

I like how the soup looks clear, but when the soup rolls over the tongue,

you can really taste the herbs and umami flavour. Not sure where the savoury flavour came from, it almost tastes like... beef noodle soup.

I think the serving of protein is good, would be great to have more veg though. Strange as it sounds, I actually prefer the toufu to the Omnipork balls.... they were really soft for a soup condiment.

Didn't taste like bakso like how I remembered it? Tasted a bit like bak kut

teh? Lol. Then again there are many different types of bakso! It came with 4 Omnimeat balls and some veggies and tofu cubes. I'd say it was just so-so.

"Meatballs" made from mushrooms with texture is similar to regular factory-made meatballs. So-so, soup was

too salty for my liking!

Had this soup few months ago and it was very flavourful. Doesn’t seem as tasty

when I tried again but still good! Love the chewy meat ball too.

Ordered this to try the omnipork meatball, but it was pretty underwhelming and bland. Soup

was pretty flavourful though! :)
