Brown rice bowl featuring #sglocal #halalcertified #Hoshay mushroom and soy patty which my non-veg friend

enjoyed. Definitely not like real meat (resembles Chinese meat substitutes made using mushroom stem), but still quite savoury especially with the housemade tonkatsu sauce and sesame seeds. Served with kabocha squash, cherry tomatoes, and crunchy shredded white and red cabbage in wafu dressing. Personally would have liked a bit more dressing for the raw veggies! Visited this place specially for its omurice (saw on Instagram) but it is no longer

available šŸ˜¢ ordered this Hamburg steak instead, not knowing how itā€™s supposed to taste (guess it should resemble beef?) Anyway it tasted ok, with the slightly spicy sauce adding flavour to the meat-like ā€œsteakā€. One star less for the nutritional value as thereā€™re no greens šŸ„¬ maybe itā€™s supposed to be so? Haha but Iā€™d prefer a version with greens :)


$13.90 nett. Chewy & fibrous mushroom patty; reminds me of mock meat haha. The tonkatsu

sauce tastes like the savoury, sweet & umami teriyaki sauce they have in their teriyaki udon / brown rice.

Very tasty hamburg. Hoshay mushroom patty with homemade tonkatsu sauce. Served with short grain brown

rice, squash, cherry tomatoes and cabbage. Very large serving.


šŸ›šŸ„šŸ„¬ Soft launch in collaboration with Hoshay~ Not sure how long this will be on

the menu, so thought to share first. I was pleasantly surprised with the patty. At first I thought it'd be some form of mock meat, but it was actually largely mushrooms reconstructed into a patty shape. This I like over stuff like Beyond/ Imppssible because there's more "whole food" than "science" in the food going down my gut. I enjoy the tonkatsu sauce which balanced the Umami and sweet sides well! I also like the crunchy cabbages and the wafu sauce! šŸ„°


Had to try this new dish on the menu - the vegan Hamburg steak is

made out of mushroom, and has a great chewy texture. As with all of The Plant Food's offerings, the serving is healthy and huge - slathered with a sweet sauce that's more teriyaki than tonkatsu, the dish comes with pumpkin, cherry tomatoes and shredded cabbage.
