Taro Burger

This is the best burger I’ve had in a while. And it’s always great to have taro—a starchy staple that has major cultural significance in Hawai’i. With streams being restored to taro farmers, taro farmers could have increasing economic and environmental significance too. Taro is known in Hawaiian. #MauiVegan

This burger was simple but tasty. I loved the idea of a taro patty, and after trying this, I wish I could find more taro burgers out there!

The Taro Burger is a staple at Moku Roots. The taro holds up better than any other vegan burger I have eaten. Since Moku Roots is trying to keep a minimal footprint, this is a good choice of ingredient for the burgers on Maui.
