It's not bad! Though don't really know how to appreciate matcha. Just happy they have

quite a number of options, and also option to switch to oat mylk!

Sooo good. Would have liked it if the oat milk was a bit more grainy,

but the matcha taste was rly strong and fulfilling. Nice vibes here too #veganin2020

very interesting combi - your taste buds can hit by the matcha first before the

hojicha aftertaste slowly streams in. but too sweet for me!

A little bummed at the $1 extra for oat milk (can we get to the

stage where we’re charging for cow milk pls) but the combination of oat + matcha + houjicha sounded intriguing enough for me to want to try this out. Also I haven’t had matcha/houjicha latte in a long time because I usually find the flavours too watered down in most cafes but I was tempted by Hvala’s good reputation.

Flavour-wise it certainly wasn’t disappointing - the oat milk is pleasantly light and the earthy tea flavours are potent. The flavours mix splendidly together. As you can see in the first picture, it looks good when it’s first presented to you, with the three stratified layers of matcha, oat mylk and houjicha lookin good for the ‘gram. The second picture is after they’ve all been stirred, when the drink takes on a more typical matcha-green hue that makes it reminiscent of a “green juice”. I guess the main disappointment was the quantity - wish I got more for $7.80 but it *is* an upscale, boutique-ish cafe so what can you do.
