Another great dish which goes very well with rice. This came steaming hot in a

lovely pot, made it look like it came freshly from lava.

This was nice and the Impossible meat pieces were pretty meaty, chunky and flavorful. On

the spicy side but still ok for me. This meal at Empress was one of the best meals I ever had. Thanks @vikas for the treat! #bestpicks

I like this dish but felt the ‘meat’ and sauce was a tad too salty

for me, would be good to eat this with plain rice/ porridge. The spiciness is mild so those who couldn’t take spicy food can enjoy this dish too.

This mapo tofu is more numbing than spicy so I think even if you can't

handle spice this should be alright. I enjoyed the Impossible meat bits in this and it really does a good job of replicating the non vegan mapo tofu experience for vegans!

Para este plato tuve que dejar los pedazos de tofu pero el resto estaba de otro planeta.. la salsa.. las verduras.. la carne vegana♥️♥️ junto con arroz ufff una delicia

Decent, doesn't have a spicy enough kick. Would like it more spicy and oily, and

have more soup. Minced meat is impossible patty. Price is high ($20). Wouldn't really recommend if you're looking for Sichuan spicy mapo tofu.

It is a visually stunning dish, presented in a sizzling hot bowl. The tofu

is very silky, the impossible meat has a nice texture to chew on. The sad part is that the dish is too salty and not spicy enough ...I got grains of salt in mouth! Therefore, conceptually great, but taste/ seasoning needs to be improved.

I love this dish which I normally have to veganize at Sichuan restaurants but at

Empress they have a fully vegan version! Overall I think you’ve gotta go there just for this dish because the flavors are really strong and it’s a bit on the salty side so I’d recommend some white rice and tea along with it. I wish they made the broth a bit on the lighter side!
