This dish usually contains eggs and this one was no exception. The staff member was very attentive and helped, making clear to the chef no egg, no sea food.

Fruit packed, refreshing and nutritious drink, decorated with a beautiful fresh flower.

I’ve just made my first visit to Thailand and naively I expected to be able to access vegan food quite easily.
In the UK, when eating out, I often choose Thai cuisine because they always offer tofu dishes which don’t contain more

sianski I also visited Phuket and Chiang Mai. The vegetarian options were more noticeable, but eating out was still tricky regarding whether or not a sauce contained fish or meat. I needed to get modern and use one of those instant translated apps as I didn’t speak Thai. Next time 🤩1 likeReply

alistar In general I use both, but yes you’re right. The abillion map is swarming with reviews in Phuket as well so I’m still confused. Reply

vikas It’s interesting in the region the companies that are making plant-based meat options and vegan packaged food products are largely Thai but with food it’s hit or miss. There are still lots of good options, just use the map on abillion to find them!4 likesReply

Come ho già scritto più volte e in varie occasioni quando non si è guidati da recensioni sicure, simboli degli allergeni e la scritta "vegan" non ci si può fidare nemmeno in Italia. Pane, focacce e piadine possono avere lo strutto o il latte. Le fritture e molti altri alimenti contengono quasi sempre uovo. Anche a Milano nei ristoranti etnici non sempre si capisce bene se i brodi sono vegetali e potrei fare tanti altri esempi. 2 likesReply

sianski Good to hear your views and experiences. Thanks. I wish I’d had a chance to use the abillion recommendations more. I was working with people who are omnivores so the eating places tended to cater for everything.
miocilloO describes well the issue, where it’s unclear if the food includes milk or eggs, or the sauces might contain meat stock. 🫛🥦🥬3 likesReply

alistar It sounds like it wasn’t catering for everything if it wasn’t catering for you and vegan food. 🌱It’s tricky traveling with omnis. @stevenneoh said that Thailand is the most vegan friendly in Southeast Asia. I tend to try to hijack the restaurant itinerary in these circumstances to make sure there’s something we can eat. Not always possible indeed. 1 likeReply
