We also tried a #vegan Veggie Pita. Meaning no faux meat, just hummus and fill-ins! We got the sundried tomato hummus, which was fantastic! It has such a nice tomato flavor, and I loved the herbs and spices. I also added lebase cauliflower, which had a great texture and taste. It was fried, so it's not super healthy, but it does have turmeric, which is good for inflammation? Give and take a bit, right?!🤣 I also filled the pita with tabouleh salad, cabbage, cucumber, and lettuce. The real show stopper was the Spanish eggplant! It was smoky, creamy, and even tangy. It was saucy and had garlic, vinegarette, and olive oil. It was delicious! Some of the pieces were a bit big, so it made the texture a little funny, but the majority of it was fantastic. It was really unique, and I would have never thought to add that to a sandwich. This very large pita was just under $10, and I love how colorful and pretty it is. #hummuslover #veganfortheanimals #abillionlove

On Sunday, we made another stop at Hummus & Pita Co. It's not super close to Sunrise, but it's way easier to get there when you're coming back from that area instead of going from Columbus. It makes a great post sanctuary cleaning meal! It's really cool to see #vegan options popping up on the south side of Columbus. Hummus & Pita is also always an enjoyable dining experience. It's very casual and bright and has a nice atmosphere. The employees are always friendly as well. We split a Vegan Shawarma Bowl loaded with spinach hummus, roasted vegetables (mostly squash), persion potatoes, and a really delicious vegan chicken shawarma We topped it off with pickle, purple cabbage, cucumber, Kalamata olives, and a Tahini. The Persion Potatoes (fried potatoes and onion loaded with curry spices) were my favorite! They had such a great texture, and the flavor was great! I believe they used Lite Light for their faux chicken. The bowls are also served with a warm pita! They're all such pretty bowls, and after you choose which bowl you'd like Shawarma, Meat Ball, or Veggie, there are so many different fill-in options. It's hard to choose! We did end up with a small order of sweet potato fries as well. I'll always prefer them! These were seasoned well, crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. They're served piping hot! They even smelled 😋 You can order these as a side for an additional $4.95. The main dishes are already so large we didn't really need a side, but I love reviewing on abillion! I took one for the team🤣 I was so incredibly full after all the stuff I tried, but everything was delicious. The staff is also very friendly, and everything comes out super fast as it's a chipotle style concept. They have a nice indoor dining area as well as a nice patio for warmer days. #veganfortheanimals #potatolover #fries #hummuslover

This Vegan Meatball Pita was great!  We chose the white pita as our base and stuffed it with spicy pepper hummus and #vegan meatballs. They give you a lot of hummus! For our hot fill-in, we chose the seasoned and grilled vegetables, and then we added tomato, cucumber, pickles, olives, and red cabbage. We topped it off with a flavorful vegan chimichuri garlic sauce. This pita had loads of different flavor and textures, but I prefer how the bowl comes with more fill-in options. The portion size like the bowl was very large, as you can see the pita it completely stuffed. You have to eat it with a fork. It's a great value at $10.95. They use fresh ingredients, which I'm always a fan of! #mediterranean #hummus #ditchdairy #veganisnotscary

We ventured a little further west and decided to make a stop at Hummus & Pita Co. They have many vegan options with a lot of veggies and different type of salads. We ordered a few different menu items, the first being a Veggie Bowl. Because I didn't select a protein option, I got two additional "fill ins." I chose the Israeli couscous, grilled vegetables, tabouleh, and the Jerusalem salad. I loved the Israeli couscous. It has such a nice flavor and texture, and the cucumber and tomato salad paired perfectly. Finally, I topped my bowl off with delicious spinach hummus, lettuce, purple cabbage, and tomatoes with a lemon and parsley vinegeratte. The bowls also come with your choice of a white or whole wheat pita. This bowl was massive and super filling. It's full of protein from the chickpeas and veggies and will keep you full on day long. This bowl was only about $13, but again, it was massive as they are really generous on the portion size. You can also add in additional fill-in options for $1. Winter lighting isn't my favorite, but this bowl was beautiful and full of bright colors! My only complaint was that I wasn't a massive fan of the vinegarette as it was extremely oily. They have so many vegan options. There are about 9 dish bases for vegans: vegan Shawarma, vegan meat balls and you can have it in either a bowl, pita, or Laffa. We actually were able to talk to the owner, and all the sides are house made, 'no cans opened,' he said. He even brought out some samples for us. You can choose hot topping or cold toppings from two separate stations. They have 6 different hummus options and sauces. We got the vegan Shawarma for our one dish. It was good and a very different flavor for me. For this wrap, we got the Shawarma, like mentioned, spinach hummus, grilled veggies, quinoa salad, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and olives. I got spicy garlic sauce on the side. I wish I had gotten the Persian potatoes!
