On Sunday, we made another stop at Hummus & Pita Co. It's not super close to Sunrise, but it's way easier to get there when you're coming back from that area instead of going from Columbus. It makes a great post sanctuary cleaning meal! It's really cool to see #vegan options popping up on the south side of Columbus. Hummus & Pita is also always an enjoyable dining experience. It's very casual and bright and has a nice atmosphere. The employees are always friendly as well.
We split a Vegan Shawarma Bowl loaded with spinach hummus, roasted vegetables (mostly squash), persion potatoes, and a really delicious vegan chicken shawarma We topped it off with pickle, purple cabbage, cucumber, Kalamata olives, and a Tahini. The Persion Potatoes (fried potatoes and onion loaded with curry spices) were my favorite! They had such a great texture, and the flavor was great! I believe they used Lite Light for their faux chicken. The bowls are also served with a warm pita! They're all such pretty bowls, and after you choose which bowl you'd like Shawarma, Meat Ball, or Veggie, there are so many different fill-in options. It's hard to choose! It's a VERY large portion for $12, so I'd say it's a great value!
