Pane, Panelle E Crocchette

This was the fourth and last thing we ordered at Ke Palle, an informal restaurant in Palermo with multiple vegan options to try some traditional Sicilian street food. It was a sandwich filled with the typical panelle (made from chickpea flour) and crocchette (made from potatoes), both deep fried right before ending in the bread. I loved the combination of the bread and these, because I felt it helped with making the dish feel less greasy. It was also a super soft bread which I really enjoyed. This sandwich is pretty small, maybe if you’re considering this place for a whole meal I would suggest pairing this with another dish. Purtroppo ne sono rimasta delusa. Il panino è morbido, io personalmente l’avrei preferito più croccante, ma il vero problema è che è pieno di mollica ed è davvero molto asciutto. Un po’ pesante, a metà ho iniziato ad avere difficoltà a mandarlo giù. Ho apprezzato la croccantezza di panelle e crocchette ma purtroppo le ho trovate poco saporite. Non lo riprenderò. . #palermo
