Pleasant cuppa hot espresso with #sglocal #oatside #oatmilk; taste-wise my mum was satisfied! ☕🥛 We also loved the heartwarming gesture of adding the coffee powder on the foam to form the word 幸福 - it's a Chinese word that essentially refers to a state of well-being, feeling blessed and fortunate. That's also the essence behind the café; to set aside time and stress when you push open the door and see their numberless clock, and to view life with a harmonious and grateful attitude. I recall this concept constantly being on my mind back in secondary school during my peak Taiwan idol drama obsession phase. I would always make the same wish in Taiwan: 我们一定都要幸福 / please let us all be happy. Fast-forward around 10 years later, 简单的幸福 / simple happiness is still ever-so-desirable, yet perhaps even more elusive.
