This Sicilian Pistachio ice cream by Van Leeuwan was good but not the best I’ve had when it comes to pistachio ice cream. I realized I prefer pistachio ice creams to have little chunks of pistachio throughout, which this didn’t have. The flavor was good but not quite bold enough in pistachio flavor. Aside from these critiques, I do appreciate the more pure & shorter list of ingredients Van Leeuwen ice creams include. This ice cream is made from both oat milk & coconut cream, and the texture and creaminess never disappoints. I really do like this brands vegan line of ice cream and hope they will eventually consider going 100% vegan and embrace the cruelty-free life.
The last time I was in Brooklyn, NY I got to visit the yellow truck that Van Leeuwen ice cream was born out of, and I still fondly remember the #vegan Banana Bread ice cream cone I had— it was incredible!
