Vegan Butter Chicken at Big Belly Indian Restaurant — K's Review (Jul 14, 2024)

Well… they tried?? I was eager to try this local Indian restaurant when I heard they had a solid vegan menu including vegan butter chick’n. Their online ordering on the website excluded all vegan options I’d seen on another menu, but when I called the restaurant to ask they assured me they still had these options.

Overall this was pretty average. The sauce was tangy and flavourful although not buttery/creamy, it was very runny. The “chicken” used soya chaap. The pieces were extremely soft - not enough bite - and there also just wasn’t much of it! Way too much sauce for the very modest amount of soy pieces.

I used an app called Eat Club to order our takeaway dinner, and this restaurant had a voucher for 40% off which I was very grateful for. This is usually $22 and I defo wouldn’t have been happy with the value for money if we didn’t have the discount.
