This is one of the most original #sorbet flavors Iāve ever tried. I mentioned this to the worker behind the counter, who informed me that this Old Market #gelato shop supplies this specific flavor to a couple of nearby restaurants. In turn, the #basil is grown by another local business (Gather in Omahaās Gather Urban Farm.) #locallysourced #supportlocal
It was a hot, humid day, and after walking around, we peeked into this shop for some A/C and refreshment. Pictured is a single scoop of basil sorbet, one of three vegan options on the menu that day. Everything is made #smallbatch, so presumably the flavors rotate around a bit. I was impressed by the smooth, dense-yet-also-light texture of the sorbet. It wasnāt icy in the slightest! Though the scoop appears small, they did a good job of rolling and packing the ball, so I was pretty well satisfied by the amount I got. It was #sweet and so refreshing, with a delightfully clean #herbs taste that was obvious without being overpowering.
Though Iām not usually a big sorbet fan, Iād recommend this one to anyone seeking a cold treat in the Old Market/Riverfront area. It was obviously high quality and a wonderful flavor for #summer!
